Mrs. Claus and the Flamingos

Mrs. Claus and the Flamingos

by Denali Devonport

This year, Santa’s Flamingo Sleigh Team will be flying with Mrs. Claus. Santa is terribly sick and he doesn’t have the energy to finish his rounds. He uses Flamingos to fly to tropical places because the reindeer get too hot.

Mrs. Claus is terribly sad that Santa can’t deliver all of the wonderful presents for good girls and boys. Luckily, Mrs. Claus is able to fit into Santa’s suit by just stuffing some pillows inside. So all of the good girls and boys will still get their wonderful presents.

All of the elves were loading the presents for the night’s remaining deliveries. Then Mrs. Claus came running out.

“I can’t find my hat!” said Mrs. Claus. “I’ve looked in all of the workshops and all of the houses and I can’t find it anywhere.”

All of the elves stopped their work and began to look in drawers, under beds, and in all sorts of other places, but it was no use. They couldn’t find it anywhere.

Then one elf said, “You can make another hat! It’s easy and it shouldn’t take long.”

“Hurry! There’s only five minutes left!” cried another elf.

Mrs. Claus ran back to her workshop and started to sew. She finished just as the elves finished loading the flamingo sleigh.

And then she called out the flamingo names… “Now Daisy! Now Raindrop! Now Rosy and Feather! On Tulip! On Stardust! On Beachball and Lemon! To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
